Doreen Birungi

STOP Spillover Country Team Lead for Uganda

Doreen Birungi is an epidemiologist and the STOP Spillover Country Team Lead for Uganda. Ms. Birungi is experienced in international and domestic biosurveillance, public health, infectious disease diagnostics, biosecurity, and biosafety. Previously, she served as a Technical Surveillance Officer in the Uganda Ministry of Health. She has worked extensively in disease investigation and response, including for the Ebola virus disease, Marburg virus disease, Rift Valley fever, and anthrax. Ms. Birungi, who holds a Master of Science degree in International Infectious Diseases Management from Makerere University, can be reached at STOPSpillover@tufts.edu.
